The Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card is Getting Bonus Points on Food

The Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card is the best credit card for Marriott Bonvoy members, but it is getting even better. This afternoon, it was announced that the card will now earn 5 Marriott Bonvoy points for every $1 spent on grocery, food delivery and takeout purchases from May 15, 2020 until August 31, 2020. This is of course in addition to the 2 Marriott Bonvoy points already earned on all other purchases. This a great gesture by American Express for cardholders who are unable to make use of the cards many travel perks due to the ongoing pandemic.

We value each Marriott Bonvoy point at 0.9 cents. This means the return on food spending with this card is now at an impressive 4.5%. We wish this benefit would stay forever, as it would turn this credit card into one of the best grocery cards on the market.
